La Factoria
La Factoria occupies a converted industrial space in the Pinares commercial area, keeping the high ceilings and exposed metalwork of the original building while fitting it out as a craft beer bar. The tap list runs eight to twelve rotating taps, sourced from Colombian craft breweries with particular focus on Bogota and Medellin-based producers. The regular list includes lagers, IPAs, and fruit-forward ales made with Colombian tropical ingredients. A rotating guest tap brings in regional and seasonal options. The space holds around 100 people with a mix of high-top communal tables and regular seating. The bar takes up one full wall. A small kitchen produces pub-style food: burgers, quesadillas, and a rotating weekly special. The after-work crowd fills the venue from 6 PM, transitioning to a later social crowd by 9 PM on weekends. The atmosphere is casual and conversation-friendly at most hours.

Insider Tip
The Tuesday tap rotation is when new beers go on; if you're visiting midweek, this is the best time to try something you won't find anywhere else in Pereira. The staff know the beers well and will walk you through the tap list if asked. The rotating weekly food special is usually the best value on the menu.
Full Review
La Factoria fills a gap in Pereira's bar scene that was clearly present before it opened. The city's craft beer culture is growing, driven partly by Colombian urbanization and partly by the influence of Bogota and Medellin's more developed beer scenes. La Factoria acts as the local point of contact for that movement, bringing in taps from Colombian producers that aren't available anywhere else in the Eje Cafetero.
The physical space earns the industrial concept. The ceiling height is genuine, the metalwork is structural rather than decorative, and the bar's design doesn't try to soften the building's history. This reads as authentic rather than themed. The communal high-top tables suit the beer bar format, which is inherently more social than the individual table setup of the gastrobars.
The tap list is the main reason to visit. Colombian craft brewing has developed significantly in the past decade, and the Bogota producers in particular have been producing IPAs and ales that compete with South American regional standards. The fruit-forward ales using guanabana and maracuya are distinctly Colombian in character and worth trying before moving to a more familiar style.
The after-work crowd is the most reliable feature. From 6 to 9 PM on weekdays, La Factoria fills with Pinares professionals unwinding after work. This is the most organic social environment in Pereira: people who live and work in the neighborhood, not tourists, not club-goers, just people who wanted a good beer after a working day. For a foreign visitor, this is an accessible and low-pressure entry point into genuine Pereirano social life.
