La Casa en el Aire
La Casa en el Aire occupies a multi-level building at Antonia Lopez de Bello 0125, on the quieter western edge of Bellavista. The venue spreads across three floors: a ground-floor bar and performance space, a mezzanine lounge, and a rooftop terrace with views across the neighborhood toward Cerro San Cristobal. The programming is eclectic, mixing live music (folk, rock, electronic, jazz) with theater, poetry readings, and film screenings. On any given week, you might catch a Chilean folk trio on Wednesday, an electronic DJ on Friday, and a theater production on Saturday afternoon. The rooftop is the highlight, with simple furniture, string lights, and a bar that serves decent cocktails. Capacity across all floors is about 300 people.

Full Review
La Casa en el Aire is Bellavista's cultural conscience. While the rest of the neighborhood gets louder and drunker as the night progresses, this multi-level venue maintains an atmosphere that values art and conversation alongside drinking. It's not stuffy. It's just different.
The ground floor hosts the performance program. The stage is small and the audience sits close, which creates an intimacy that larger venues can't replicate. A folk musician performing here connects with the room in a way that doesn't happen at a festival. The sound is simple and acoustic-friendly.
The mezzanine functions as a lounge with couches, low tables, and enough distance from the stage to have a conversation at normal volume. It's a good holding pattern between acts or for people who want the atmosphere without committing to a full show.
The rooftop is the crown. Open to the sky, with views of Cerro San Cristobal and the Bellavista rooftops, it's one of Santiago's nicest spots for a drink on a warm evening. The bar is simple but competent, and the setting does most of the work. On a clear night, the Andes glow behind the city's eastern edge. The crowd here is a mix of locals and travelers who found their way off Pio Nono and stumbled into something better.
The Neighborhood
La Casa en el Aire sits on Antonia Lopez de Bello, on the western side of Bellavista closer to Patronato. The street is quieter than Pio Nono and has a handful of other bars and restaurants. It's about a 5-minute walk from the main Bellavista action.
Getting There
Metro Baquedano (Lines 1 and 5), walk north through Bellavista and west on Antonia Lopez de Bello. About a 12-minute walk from the Metro. Uber from central Santiago costs 2,500-4,000 CLP.
