The room has character. The exposed brick, industrial ceiling, and salvaged decor give it a texture that the newer, purpose-built venues on the strip lack. The layout directs attention toward the DJ booth and the dance floor, which occupy one end of the space. The bar runs along the opposite wall, keeping the flow logical: order a drink, find your spot, listen.
The DJ bookings are the real draw. The venue programs house, techno, and related genres with an emphasis on quality over fame. Toronto's local electronic music scene, which is deeper than many visitors expect, supplies most of the talent. Guest DJs from out of town appear on special bills, but the regulars are why the loyal crowd keeps coming back. Thursday nights, in particular, tend to attract the most music-focused audience.
