Full Review
Bugaloe gets the beach bar formula right. The pier location puts you over the water, and on a calm evening the turquoise Caribbean beneath your feet is worth the drink prices.
Live music elevates the experience above typical hotel beach bars. Reggae and calypso fit the environment naturally. On the best nights, a strong band, a good rum punch, and a Caribbean sunset combine into one of those travel moments that justifies the trip.
The drink menu leans tropical and frozen. The Bushwacker (a frozen blend of rum, Kahlua, and coconut) is the signature and it's dangerously easy to drink.
The main drawback is timing. Sunset draws a crowd, and tables fill by 5:30 PM. After 9 PM, the crowd thins and the bar takes on a quieter, more local character.
