Saigon's New Year's Eve concentrates in District 1 across three connected scenes. Nguyen Hue Walking Street is the central pedestrian boulevard that hosts the main free public event: concert stages from 21:00, midnight fireworks fired from the Bitexco Financial Tower's roof (visible from anywhere along Nguyen Hue and across most of central District 1), around 300,000 attendees. The crowd skews Vietnamese plus a heavy international tourist contingent.
The Bui Vien Walking Street (eight blocks west) is the backpacker bar street: packed shoulder-to-shoulder from 21:00 to 03:00, plastic stools on the sidewalk, bia hoi at VND 15,000 per glass, the loudest international NYE crowd in Vietnam. Free entry everywhere; small bars (Crazy Buffalo, Phatty's, Spotted Cow, Le Pub) run open-door.
Rooftop Bars
Chill Skybar on the 26th floor of AB Tower (76A Le Lai) is the headline rooftop NYE: multi-course dinner from 19:00, premium open bar, DJ residents, direct sightlines to the Bitexco fireworks. VND 1.8M to VND 3.5M per person (USD 70 to USD 140). Saigon Saigon Bar at the Caravelle Hotel (the long-running Vietnam War-era bar with the city's most cinematic view) runs a similar format at VND 2.2M to VND 4.5M.
