Da Nang's Rise as the New Vietnamese NYE
Da Nang has overtaken Nha Trang as Vietnam's premier beach NYE destination since 2024. The infrastructure (international airport with direct flights from 25+ Asian cities, the My Khe Beach development that runs 9 km of beachfront hotels, Ba Na Hills with the Golden Bridge, the Dragon Bridge's weekly fire-breathing show) plus a safer reputation than Nha Trang has made it the rising choice. December weather is consistently 20 to 26°C, more comfortable than the southern beach destinations during the same window.
The Dragon Bridge fireworks at midnight is the iconic Da Nang NYE photo. The bridge itself does its weekly fire-breathing show as part of the NYE event; the actual fireworks fire from a barge on the Han River. The Bach Dang Street walkway along the river quay between Han Bridge and Dragon Bridge offers the best free viewing. Around 80,000 to 120,000 attendees along the quay from 22:00.
My Khe Beach Countdown
My Khe Beach (the 9 km strand voted by Forbes as one of the world's most attractive beaches) runs a parallel free public NYE event with concert stages, food stalls, and midnight fireworks from offshore barges. Around 100,000 attendees along the beach promenade. The crowd is mixed Vietnamese-international, with a heavy Korean and Russian contingent.

Sky36 on the 36th floor of the Novotel Premier Han River is the headline rooftop bar NYE: multi-course dinner from 19:00, premium open bar, Han River and Dragon Bridge fireworks views, party until 02:00. VND 2,500,000 to VND 5,500,000 per person (USD 100 to USD 220). The rooftop at the Brilliant Hotel runs a similar format at VND 1,800,000 to VND 3,500,000.
Sun World Ba Na Hills
The Sun World Ba Na Hills mountain complex (25 km west of Da Nang) runs a private NYE event at the French Village: cable car up at 17:00, dinner at one of the French-themed restaurants from 19:00, the Golden Bridge illuminated, midnight fireworks from the mountain over Da Nang Bay.
