The room sizes range from small (4-6 people) to larger (15-20 people), with the pricing scaling accordingly.

The critical distinction at any Vietnamese KTV is family-style versus hostess KTV. Family-style means visitors rent the room and sing among themselves, with food and drink service provided but no hostess companions. Hostess KTV adds female hostess companions to the room as part of the service, with significant additional costs (hostess service fees, drinks for the hostesses, sometimes 'service fees' that aren't disclosed upfront). The family-style room rental is genuine entertainment; the hostess KTV format is in legally gray territory and can produce shocking bill surprises.

The distinction takes practice to recognize. Family-style venues typically have clear signage, Vietnamese family imagery, music notes, or cartoons. Hostess KTVs operate more discreetly, often with minimal signage, parking lots, and entrances away from the main street view. Karaoke Vegas operates in the mid-tier and visitors should verify the format before committing.

The room rental pricing for family-style runs 300,000-700,000 VND per hour depending on room size. Drinks at 80,000-150,000 VND per beer reflect mid-tier KTV pricing. With hostess service, the total bills can climb sharply (hostess service fees of $50-100+ per hostess, drinks for hostesses at premium pricing, additional 'service charges'). Foreign visitors who enter unfamiliar KTV venues and find themselves in hostess context can face bills that run into hundreds or thousands of dollars. The safe rule: don't enter KTV venues you're not sure about.
