Full Review

Above Eleven sits on the rooftop of the Fraser Suites building, offering a panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline that extends from the Sukhumvit towers to the downtown high-rises. The terrace wraps the rooftop with a mix of bar seating, lounge areas, and standing spots along the railing. The design mixes South American touches with Bangkok rooftop sensibility.

The cocktail menu is extensive, with Peruvian-Japanese fusion influences reflected in both the drinks and the food. The Nikkei concept extends to ceviche, tiraditos, and small plates that work as accompaniments to the drinking. The crowd is a mix of hotel guests, Bangkok professionals, and tourists who've come for the view. The atmosphere stays lounge-level through the evening, with music that supports conversation rather than competing with it.

Above Eleven competes with Nest (nearby on Soi 11) and the broader Bangkok rooftop bar category. The Nikkei food concept gives it a point of difference from generic rooftop menus. The view is excellent but doesn't match the extreme height of venues like Skye Bar in Jakarta or Lebua's Sky Bar in Bangkok. What it offers is a combination of good drinks, good food, and a comfortable rooftop setting.

Sunset timing is worth planning for. The view shifts dramatically from golden hour to city lights. Reserve for weekends. The Nikkei menu is genuinely good, not just rooftop-bar filler food.

The Neighborhood

Above Eleven sits atop a building on Sukhumvit Soi 11, adding a rooftop cocktail option to a street better known for its street-level nightlife. The soi's mix of bars, clubs, and restaurants makes it easy to combine a rooftop drink with a fuller evening out.

Getting There
