Shark
Shark is one of Soi Cowboy's longest-running go-go bars, occupying a two-floor space near the middle of the strip. The ground floor has a transparent ceiling that lets light filter through from above. A raised rectangular stage sits at the center with around 20 dancers working the poles. The relaunch brought fresh faces and a stronger lineup. It draws a loyal crowd of regulars alongside Cowboy newcomers.
What to Expect
You walk in off the neon-lit strip and immediately hit the central stage. Two floors give you options. Sit downstairs on the ground level for the unique transparent ceiling view. The girls wear sheer tops and work the poles in rotation. The crowd is usually a mix of solo travelers and small groups of blokes. It runs quieter earlier and fills up after 10pm. Music is loud, heavy on pop and EDM. Staff push lady drinks but not aggressively. Atmosphere is solid for Soi Cowboy.
Energetic and friendly without being overwhelming. The two-level layout gives it more room than most Cowboy bars. Gets louder and more packed as the night pushes past 10pm. Couch seating available for groups.
Commercial EDM and pop. Loud inside, more manageable near the entrance.
Casual. Shorts and sandals are fine.
First-timers to Soi Cowboy wanting a reliable, mid-size gogo with good happy hour pricing. Also good for regulars who know the venue and its roster.
Cash preferred. Thai baht only. ATMs are a short walk away on Sukhumvit.

Full Review
Shark runs a mid-sized room on Soi Cowboy with a central stage and bar seating arranged in a horseshoe pattern. The space is tight enough that even a moderate crowd makes it feel full, which gives midweek nights an energy that larger venues struggle to replicate. The decor is standard go-go: dark walls, colored lights, and mirrors behind the stage. The sound system plays Thai pop and commercial hits at a level that fills the room without making conversation impossible.
The bar has built a reputation around a younger lineup of dancers and a lively, party-oriented atmosphere. Drink prices sit at Soi Cowboy standard. Staff engagement falls somewhere between Spanky's open friendliness and Rainbow 4's businesslike directness. The crowd is mostly tourists and expats working through the Soi Cowboy circuit, often stopping here as one of several bars on an evening walk down the soi. Regular visitors tend to settle in when they find a lineup they like.
Shark doesn't carry Baccara's name recognition or Suzie Wong's production ambitions, but it delivers a reliable mid-range experience. The younger lineup is its differentiator, drawing visitors who prioritize that quality. The horseshoe seating means most positions have clear sightlines, which matters in a room this size.
The tight room fills fast on weekends, so arriving before 10 PM helps. Walk the full soi before committing to any single bar, as the venues are close enough to compare in ten minutes. Midweek visits offer more space and less competition for attention.
The Neighborhood
Shark operates mid-strip on Soi Cowboy, Bangkok's short but dense go-go bar street between Sukhumvit Soi 21 and Soi 23. The street's compact format means every bar is within a minute's walk of every other.
Getting There
BTS Asok or MRT Sukhumvit, then a two-minute walk. The bar is mid-soi, visible from either entrance.
