Baccara
Baccara is Soi Cowboy's most recognisable venue and stays consistently packed from 21:00 onwards. The two-storey layout with a glass floor upstairs is unique; you can stand above the main stage and watch through the floor, which is a genuine novelty. Beer starts at 180 THB, bar fine at 600 THB, and lady drinks at 200 THB. Photography and video are strictly banned, enforced by vigilant staff. The bar enforces a one-drink-per-customer rule that is fair. Some nights the dancers lack engagement, which is the main complaint across recent reviews.
What to Expect
A two-storey go-go bar with a genuinely unique glass floor design. High foot traffic means it rarely feels empty. Lady quality varies by night. The one-drink rule keeps things fair.
Busy and buzzing. Baccara has lost some polish but remains a Soi Cowboy institution.

Insider Tip
Do not try to take photos or video; staff will spot you and the interaction will be unpleasant. Arrive by 21:30 to get a seat. The upstairs glass floor viewing area is worth a look. Weekends deliver a much more engaged dancer roster than weekdays.
Full Review
Baccara sits at the entrance of Soi Cowboy, the first bar you encounter when walking in from the Sukhumvit end. The position is strategic: it catches the foot traffic before the competition. The interior is one of the larger spaces on the soi, with a well-lit central stage, comfortable seating around the perimeter, and a bar that serves standard-priced drinks without the surprises that some Bangkok venues spring.
The lineup is Soi Cowboy's strongest on most nights, with dancers who are above average for the street and staff who run a professional operation. The atmosphere is more polished than the smaller bars further down the soi. The crowd is mixed: tourists on their first Soi Cowboy visit, regulars who've settled on Baccara as their default, and business travelers from the nearby hotels.
Baccara competes with Suzie Wong for Soi Cowboy's top spot. Suzie Wong has the more dramatic setting. Baccara has the better location and more consistent lineup. Both outperform the smaller bars on the soi in quality, though the smaller venues sometimes offer better value and less pressure.
The entrance location means it's the first bar most visitors see, which works both for and against it. It catches the walk-in crowd but can feel like the obvious choice. Take a walk down the entire soi before committing to a long stay anywhere.
The Neighborhood
Baccara anchors the Sukhumvit entrance of Soi Cowboy, Bangkok's shortest and most concentrated go-go bar street. The soi runs between Sukhumvit Soi 21 and Soi 23, within walking distance of the BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit stations.
Getting There
BTS Asok or MRT Sukhumvit station, then a two-minute walk to Soi Cowboy. Baccara is the first bar on the left when entering from Sukhumvit Soi 21.
