Fun Club
Fun Club has been Sevilla's alternative nightlife anchor since the 1980s, operating from a former cinema on the Alameda de Hercules. The programming is eclectic and intentionally non-mainstream: indie rock concerts, flamenco fusion nights, electronic DJ sets, themed costume parties, and everything between. The venue holds about 500 people in a main room with a stage, decent sound, and a bar that stretches along one wall. A smaller side room or terrace area handles overflow. Entry runs EUR 8-15 depending on the event, with some nights free before midnight. Drinks are EUR 5-8 for cocktails and EUR 3-5 for beer, which is reasonable for a club. Full Review
Fun Club's former cinema space gives it proportions that work for both concerts and club nights. The main room has a wide stage, a flat floor area, and enough ceiling height that the room breathes even when packed. The sound system has been upgraded over the years and handles live bands and electronic music equally well.
The programming is the real draw. On my first visit, a local band played original flamenco fusion that blended traditional cante with electronic production. The crowd knew every song and sang along with genuine passion. Two nights later, a DJ from Madrid played minimal techno to a completely different audience in the same room. Both nights worked because Fun Club's identity isn't tied to a single genre.
The crowd reflects Sevilla's creative community. Artists, musicians, university students, and the kind of people who start interesting conversations at 3 AM. The dress code is effectively nonexistent: I saw three-piece suits and punk patches in the same room. The bar serves simple drinks quickly, and the prices stay honest despite the Alameda's rising rents.
Fun Club has survived four decades because it never tried to be something it's not. In a city known for flamenco tradition, it carved out a space for everything else. That independence is rare and worth supporting.

Fun Club sits on the Alameda de Hercules, Sevilla's main alternative nightlife strip. The Alameda is a long, tree-lined boulevard with bars, restaurants, and terraces on both sides. The surrounding blocks have been Sevilla's creative neighborhood for decades.
Getting There
Walk from central Sevilla; the Alameda is a 15-minute walk north from the Cathedral area. Bus lines C3 and C4 stop nearby. Taxis from the center cost EUR 5-7. The club is on the east side of the Alameda, clearly signed.

Former coal yard converted into a sprawling bar complex with free nightly flamenco shows in the back room. The atmosphere is rough, the drinks are cheap, and the flamenco varies from amateur to genuinely moving. Open since the 1980s and beloved by locals and visitors alike.

Terrace bar on the Alameda with a loyal local following. The crowd is creative and slightly alternative. Good gin and tonics (Spain's national mixed drink, practically) and a relaxed atmosphere that doesn't try too hard.

Multi-level bar and event space on the Alameda that hosts art exhibitions, live music, and DJ nights. The rooftop terrace is popular in warm weather. An anchor venue for the neighborhood's creative community.
