Stanica 26 is a cocktail-focused lounge that opened in 2023 on Orce Nikolov street, one block from Gradski Park. The venue seats about 60 people across an interior bar room and a street-facing terrace. The design is minimal and modern: concrete surfaces, leather seating, and statement lighting that contrasts with the Ottoman aesthetic across the river. The cocktail program is Skopje's most ambitious, using local ingredients like Macedonian mountain herbs, Tikves wine reductions, and seasonal fruits in technically precise drinks. The bar team trained in Belgrade and Zagreb before returning to Skopje, and the quality shows in the balance and presentation of every drink. The crowd reflects the venue's positioning: young professionals, creative types, and the kind of people who care about what's in their glass.

What to Expect

A clean, modern space that feels imported from a larger European city. The bar counter is the focal point, with bartenders working with visible precision. The terrace offers a quieter alternative on warm evenings.

Atmosphere

Refined, focused, and contemporary. The antithesis of a rowdy bar night.

Music

Deep house, nu-jazz, and electronic downtempo. Volume stays at conversation level.

Dress Code

Smart casual. The crowd here is well-dressed by Skopje standards. A good shirt, dark jeans, and proper shoes fit the room.

Full Review

Stanica 26 represents a new chapter in Skopje's bar scene. Where most of the city's nightlife trades on atmosphere and low prices, this venue bets on quality and technique. The gamble works because the execution is consistent and the pricing, while higher than Skopje's average, remains ridiculous by Western European standards.

The interior is deliberately minimal. Polished concrete, leather upholstery, and pendant lighting create a space that could exist in Berlin or Copenhagen. The bar counter seats eight and provides the best vantage point; watching the bartenders build drinks with measured precision is part of the experience. The back bar is well-stocked, with a selection of spirits that reflects the team's training and taste.

The cocktail menu runs about 12 options, divided into categories by spirit base. Local ingredients feature prominently: wild mountain tea infusions, plum and quince preparations, and Tikves wine reductions appear across multiple drinks. A gin-based drink using foraged juniper from Mount Vodno tastes distinctly of place. The bartenders are happy to discuss ingredients, suggest alternatives, and make off-menu drinks if you describe what you like.

The terrace is a bonus rather than the main attraction. Six tables on the sidewalk catch the evening light and provide a perch for people-watching on Orce Nikolov street, which carries a steady flow of foot traffic between the park and the residential neighborhoods to the south.

Service is knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. The staff understands that a cocktail lounge runs on pacing, and they read tables well. Couples on date nights are given space; groups are offered recommendations for sharing.

The crowd skews slightly older than Epicentar's clubbers, with most patrons in their late twenties to early forties. The atmosphere is social but measured; this is where people come to talk, not to shout over music. The venue works beautifully as a first stop before a bigger night out or as the entire destination for those who prefer quality over volume.

The Neighborhood

Stanica 26 is on Orce Nikolov street, a pleasant residential-commercial street one block from Gradski Park. The surrounding area has restaurants and cafes, and Epicentar is a 5-minute walk south.

Getting There

Walk south from Macedonia Square for about 10 minutes, or take a taxi from the Old Bazaar for MKD 100-150. The venue is on the left side of Orce Nikolov street, marked by a minimalist sign.
