Turi Beach Resort Bar

4.4
(3,670 reviews)
Nongsa, Batam

Turi Beach Resort in Nongsa runs two bars: Aqua Bar near the pool and the Island Bar positioned directly on the beach. The Island Bar is the better of the two for sunset watching, sitting at the water's edge with direct views toward Singapore's skyline in the distance. Cocktails and mocktails cover the full spectrum. The resort's Italian restaurant is adjacent and worth combining with a drink session. The beach here is private, calm, and markedly quieter than Batam's main entertainment areas.

Full Review

Turi Beach Resort runs two bars: Aqua Bar near the pool and Island Bar positioned directly on the beach. Island Bar is the one that matters. It sits at the water's edge with direct views toward Singapore's skyline across the strait, and between 5:30 and 6:30 PM on a clear evening, the light show is free and extraordinary. The resort setting is peaceful, manicured, and a world removed from Nagoya's entertainment strip.

The crowd is almost entirely resort guests and Singaporean couples on weekend getaways. Cocktails and mocktails are competently mixed, the wine selection is adequate for a resort bar, and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. The adjacent Italian restaurant creates a natural progression from drinks to dinner. The private beach is calm, clean, and rarely crowded, which adds to the sense of escape.

Among Nongsa's resort bars, Turi Beach offers the most direct Singapore skyline view from the beach level. KTM Resort's Ombak Bar competes on ambiance, and Nongsa Point Marina Bar offers a different nautical character. Turi wins on the simplicity of sitting on sand with a cocktail and watching the skyline light up across the water.

The Island Bar opens at 3 PM; arrive by 5 PM for sunset. Non-guests are welcome but may pay a resort access fee, so call ahead. The Italian restaurant next door is worth combining with the bar visit for a full evening.

The Neighborhood

Nongsa's northeastern coast faces Singapore directly across the strait, and the resort bars along this coastline capitalize on that proximity. Turi Beach is one of the longest-established resorts in this corridor.

Getting There

Taxi from Nongsa Point ferry terminal takes 10-15 minutes. From Batam Centre, allow 30-40 minutes. The resort provides ferry-to-resort transfer information on its website.
