Diva Nicotina
Diva Nicotina operates on a side street off the main Plaza Foch strip, occupying a mid-sized space that holds around 250 people at capacity. The club runs a straightforward nightclub setup: a main dance floor with a DJ booth at the front, a bar along the side wall, a small VIP section with booth seating, and a second bar near the entrance. The sound system is a step above most La Mariscal competitors, delivering clean bass without the distortion common at other venues. Music programming splits between electronic dance music on some nights and reggaeton and Latin trap on others, with the schedule rotating weekly. The club books both local Quito DJs and occasional guest acts from Colombia and Peru. Friday nights lean electronic, while Saturdays go full reggaeton. The crowd is predominantly Ecuadorian, with fewer tourists than Bungalow 6 draws. The age range runs 21 to 30, mostly young professionals and university students from Quito's northern neighborhoods. The venue has a sister location in Guayaquil.

What to Expect
A dark room with colored lighting, loud music, and a dance floor that fills progressively from 11 PM. The first hour feels underpopulated, but by midnight the space transforms. Bodies pack the floor and the energy shifts from casual to committed. The bar area stays accessible even when the dance floor is full.
Dark, loud, and focused on the dance floor. More club than bar, with the music and dancing as the clear priority.
Electronic dance music (house, techno-lite) on Fridays, reggaeton and Latin trap on Saturdays. Occasional hip-hop and pop mixed in.
Smart casual to dressy. Men in jeans and collared shirts or fitted t-shirts. Women tend to dress up more than at the backpacker bars. Clean sneakers are fine; sandals are not.
Local Quito nightlife experience with fewer tourists than Plaza Foch venues. Good for people who take their music and dancing seriously.
Cash and cards accepted. Cash is faster at the bar during peak hours.

Insider Tip
Friday nights have the better music programming if you prefer electronic. Saturday is pure reggaeton. Follow their Instagram for guest DJ announcements and free entry promotions. The sound is better near the middle of the dance floor than at the edges. Arrive before 11:30 PM to avoid the line.
Full Review
Diva Nicotina sits in an interesting position within La Mariscal's nightlife hierarchy. It's not the biggest club (that's Bungalow 6) and it's not the most famous, but it arguably has the best sound and the most dedicated dance crowd. The venue takes its music programming seriously, and that shows in who walks through the door.
The physical space is functional rather than flashy. Dark walls, colored LED lighting that shifts with the music, a raised DJ booth, and a dance floor that takes up most of the room. The bar along the side wall is long enough to handle the crowd without creating massive bottlenecks, though peak-hour waits still hit 5 to 10 minutes. The VIP booths along the back wall offer table service and a slightly elevated view of the floor.
The sound system is the standout feature. Where other La Mariscal clubs push volume through mediocre speakers and create a wall of distortion, Diva Nicotina's setup delivers clean, balanced sound. The bass hits your chest without drowning out the mids. For a club in a neighborhood not known for audio quality, this makes a real difference to the dance experience.
Friday nights are the better programming choice for electronic music fans. The DJs play house and techno-influenced sets that actually have structure and progression, building energy through the night rather than just blasting hits. Saturday nights flip to reggaeton, which draws a bigger crowd but a different vibe.
The crowd is noticeably more Ecuadorian than other La Mariscal venues. Fewer backpackers, more young Quitenos who've come specifically to dance. This gives the venue a more authentic local feel. People actually know the songs and sing along. The dance floor energy on a good Saturday night is genuinely impressive.
The main downside is the limited schedule. Operating only Friday and Saturday (with occasional Thursday events) means you can't always catch it. The location on a side street also means the walk from Plaza Foch, while short, crosses a less well-lit block. Take an Uber if you're leaving after 1 AM.
