Dodgy Dock
Dodgy Dock sits on a wooden dock extending into True Blue Bay, about 2 km east of Grand Anse Beach. The bar and restaurant are part of the True Blue Bay Boutique Resort but open to non-guests. The dock construction puts you over the water, with views across the bay to the hills and the Caribbean Sea beyond. The name is self-deprecating; the dock itself is solid. Tables line both sides of the dock, with a covered bar at the center and a small stage for live music performances. Capacity is around 60-70. The menu emphasizes fresh seafood: grilled catch of the day, fish tacos, shrimp plates, and a few meat options. The bar carries a full selection including local rum, and the cocktail list is more considered than the beach bars. The crowd is older and calmer than the Grand Anse Beach scene: yacht crews from the marina, expat residents, resort guests, and tourists who've made the effort to drive over. Live music nights (typically Wednesday or Thursday, plus weekends) feature local musicians playing calypso, jazz, or reggae. The sunset view from the dock faces west over the bay, and on clear evenings it's one of the prettiest spots on the island.
What to Expect
You walk out onto a wooden dock over calm, clear water. Tables are arranged along both sides with views of the bay. A bar sits under a roof in the center. The water is visible through gaps in the planking. Pelicans and fishing boats share the bay. The pace is slow and the setting is genuinely beautiful.
Peaceful, scenic, and gently social. The sound of water beneath the dock, soft music, and conversation create an environment meant for lingering.
Live music on scheduled nights: calypso, jazz, reggae, and Caribbean folk. Background playlist on other nights features similar genres at low volume.
Resort casual. Shorts and a nice shirt, sundresses, sandals. Slightly more put-together than the beach bars but far from formal.
Couples wanting a romantic waterfront dinner, live music enthusiasts, anyone looking for a calmer alternative to the Grand Anse Beach bar scene.
Credit cards and cash (EC$ or USD) accepted. Cards work reliably here as it's attached to a resort.

Full Review
True Blue Bay sits around a headland from Grand Anse, which means it feels like a different world despite being a 5-minute drive away. The bay is sheltered, with a marina that attracts sailboats and small yachts. Dodgy Dock extends from the resort property into this bay, creating a bar and restaurant experience that's defined by the water around it.
The dock is well-maintained despite the joke name. Tables are wooden, sturdy, and spaced well enough for privacy. The covered bar section provides shade during the day and shelter from occasional rain. At the far end of the dock, a couple of prime tables sit with 270-degree water views. These fill first on busy evenings.
The kitchen's strength is seafood. The catch of the day, typically snapper, mahi-mahi, or tuna, arrives simply grilled with local sides. The fish tacos are popular and well-made: fresh fish, shredded cabbage, a lime-cilantro sauce. The portions are appropriate for the price point, which sits between beach-bar casual and resort-restaurant pricing.
The bar is better than it needs to be. The cocktail list includes several rum-based originals that use local ingredients (nutmeg, which Grenada produces in significant quantity, appears in several drinks). A nutmeg rum punch is the house special and worth trying. The rum selection leans toward Grenadian producers, which gives visitors a chance to taste distilleries they won't find easily elsewhere.
Live music nights are the highlight. Local musicians play on a small stage near the bar, and the sound carries well across the water. A calypso guitarist on a Wednesday evening, with the sun going down over the bay and a rum punch in hand, is one of those Caribbean moments that justifies the trip.
The crowd is noticeably different from the Grand Anse venues. Older on average, more international (the marina brings sailors from everywhere), and quieter. This isn't a party spot. It's a place for a good dinner, good drinks, and the kind of relaxed evening that Grenada does better than most islands.
The downside is accessibility. You need a taxi or rental car to get here from Grand Anse. The road is narrow and poorly lit at night. Factor in return transport costs when planning the evening. It's worth the trip, but it takes intention.
