The setup is open-front with covered seating, a DJ booth, pool tables in back, and bar service running through to 2 AM on weeknights and later on weekends. Full Review
Jack & Daniels Bar occupies an open-front building on Serendipity Beach Road, with the layout extending from a covered front bar area through indoor seating to a back pool table area. The setup has the characteristic worn look of a long-running backpacker bar, with the venue having survived the 2018-2020 turmoil that closed most of the surrounding Serendipity establishments.
The DJ programming picks up around 10 PM most nights with house, EDM, and hip-hop driving the evening energy. The crowd is 60-70 percent foreign and skews under 30, with the young Western backpacker demographic forming the base alongside Russian, German, and Australian visitors. The dance floor area near the DJ booth activates as the crowd density builds toward midnight.
The pricing follows Cambodia's dual-currency system. Draft Angkor at $1.50-2.50 USD per pour, with happy hour pushing down to $0.75-1 USD. Cocktails at $3-5 USD. Buckets at $4-6 USD. Change comes back in Cambodian riel at roughly 4,100 KHR per USD. The pricing is genuinely cheap by any international standard.
The drink spiking risk on Serendipity Beach Road is real and worth managing. Watch bartenders pour drinks. Don't accept drinks from strangers. Don't leave drinks unattended. If you suddenly feel disproportionately drunk for what you've consumed, alert friends and get to your accommodation. The Jack & Daniels staff handles trouble quickly when noticed but the standard precautions matter.
The atmosphere is unfiltered backpacker bar energy with the late-night programming pulling the strip's crowd through after the other bars close. Ferry-day pre-departure visitors often anchor their last night at Jack & Daniels before the morning boat to Koh Rong.
