In a city where nightlife trends toward wine bars and modern clubs, this tiny room on Pushkin Street preserves something older and more meaningful: live jazz performed by musicians who have dedicated their lives to the form.

Malkhas Yeranossian, the saxophonist who founded and still runs the club, is the heart of the operation. When he performs, the room transforms. His playing has the authority of decades on stage, and the small room amplifies every nuance. You hear breath, feel vibration, and watch fingers move on keys from a distance of two meters. This is not background music. This is a performance that demands and rewards attention.

The rotating guest musicians bring variety. Local jazz players, visiting artists, and occasionally diaspora musicians passing through Yerevan sit in for sets. The musical standard stays consistently high because Malkhas curates the bookings with a musician's ear. Bad nights are rare.

The room itself is part of the experience. The photographs, memorabilia, and decades of accumulated character give the walls a story that matches the music. The tables are tight, the seating is basic, and the bar is functional. None of that matters when the first notes hit.

The cover charge of AMD 2,000-3,000 ($5-7.50) is borderline absurd for the quality of live music you receive. At these prices, you're essentially paying for your first drink. The overall cost of an evening, including cover, drinks, and perhaps food before or after at a nearby restaurant, stays well under AMD 10,000 ($25).

The only real constraint is capacity. At 50 seats, weekend performances sell out quickly, and latecomers watch from the doorway or don't get in at all. Arriving by 20:30 is essential on Friday and Saturday nights. Weeknight performances are easier to access and often equally rewarding.
